15 Ways to Speed up your PC
Use some or all of these tips to improve the speed & reliablity of your computer. Get in touch if you need assistance.

1. Vacuum your computer - It may sound strange but as Computers suck in dust, hair etc they can overheat & slow down. Make sure you remove the power cable before you begin.Twice a year should do.
2. Defrag your hard drive - Keep all your files intact.
3. Uninstall unwanted Programs - Remove any program you don't use to free up your RAM.
4. Remove MSN Messenger - Run the following text "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove"
5. Delete all the files from the Prefetch folder.You can find this folder in the Windows Folder.
6. Switch off Windows Visual Effects - Effects look nice but slow your computer down.
7. Stop unwanted Apps from Loading - Run MSConfig & Switch off Unnecessary Applications from starting up automatically.
8. Switch off unwanted Services - Using MSConfig, switch off
Unnecessary Services.
9. Switch off System Restore- It doesn't work that well, & switching it off speeds things up.
10.Clean things up with Crap Cleaner-Download & install this great free application
11.Remove Internet Security Programs such as Symantec & McAfae - Both these programs swallow up system resources & offer little more functuality than is included in Windows.
12.Install AVG Antivirus for Free - Why pay for Antivirus Protection? Grisoft offer AVG AntiVirus for free for Home Users.
13.Run a Registry Cleaner- The Registry is the heart of Windows, keep it in good condition. Try this one for free
14.Buy & install more RAM (Memory)- Look for extra memory for your computer here
15.Add a 2nd Hard Disk - An extra disk increases capacity but can also speed up your computer.
